Whitney Blake Company designs, manufactures and distributes electrical retractile cords and cable assemblies which are primarily used by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) as a component in the manufacture of a variety of commercial and military communications, electronic data processing, medical electronic, durable goods and other equipment.

As the first commercial supplier of retractile cords (Koiled Kords™), the Company has developed a strong marketing position. Although the technology and quality associated with its products have become more standard (non-patented) over the years, management believes that its level of engineering design and support is unique in the industry.

• Whitney Blake is one of the few manufacturers with expertise in rubber and neoprene coiled cord manufacturing. Although more expensive, rubber and neoprene have good flexibility in a wide range of temperatures and harsh environments, requires a lower force to extend and has good “memory.” As a result it is often used in top-of-the-line or professional grade OEM products.

• The Company is unique in its capability to insulate tinsel with rubber and has a proprietary method of processing rubber coiled cords. Similarly, with its proprietary rubber insulating, jacketing and molding compounds it is believed to be the only qualified vendor producing military rubber communications cords which meet current specifications

• Whitney Blake tailors its products to the customer's specific needs. The Company produces retractile cords and cable assemblies for use in a variety of applications by responding to specific customer orders rather than maintaining a broad finished-good inventory. In this regard, less than 15% of Whitney Blake's business consists of stock/inventory sales.

• The Company’s strategy is to use its engineering design expertise to become the vendor of choice as new OEM products are developed. Whitney Blake is actively involved in the OEM product development cycle often spending 6 to 18 months producing samples and prototypes before a customer order is placed. Over the years, the Company has accumulated a large library of cord designs and performance data associated with various designs and materials.
