M.I.B. Interconnect Cable Device

Whitney Blake Company, a provider of interconnect solutions, has released the Medical Information Bus (M.I.B.) interconnect cable device. Well-suited for use in critical situations, the M.I.B. cable is pre-engineered with a flame retardant jacket, meets IEEE 1073.4.1 standards, provides clear, reliable signal transmission and has good extension and retractile characteristics, providing reliability for critical signal devices typical in the medical, aerospace and other industries.
M.I.B. cable consists of six conductors, one 28 AWG twisted pair offering two data signal lines, a second 24 AWG twisted pair providing two power conductors and two individual 28 AWG for unique function signal lines. Additionally, all condutors are insulated with a durable dielectric material to ensure dependable performance.
The M.I.B. cable's 28 AWG drain wire provides ease of termination to the back shells of the cable connectors, and the polyurethane jacket is designed to withstand repeated cord extensions, maintain retractability and act as a reliable environmental barrier.
Whitney Blakes constantly expanding role of leadership in the development of high-tech cable products is our developmental role in designing a data interconnect device for the forthcoming M.I.B. project which will play a central role in transmitting patient data from bedside monitors to physicians or care providers via a hospital LAN.
